About the Glitch Text Generator
Glitch text, often called Zalgo text or cursed text, stacks Unicode combining marks above and below each letter so it looks like it is melting off the screen. It became an internet horror meme and is still a favorite for spooky usernames and dramatic messages.
Pick a light glitch for a subtle effect or the heavy setting for full chaos. Heavy glitch text can spill over nearby lines, so some apps trim it or limit how much you can post.
Glitch Text Generator FAQ
- What is Zalgo text?
- Zalgo text is regular text with many combining marks piled onto each character. The name comes from an old internet creepypasta meme about a chaotic entity called Zalgo.
- Why does my glitch text look different after pasting?
- Each app renders combining marks differently, and some strip them out to stop text from overlapping. Try the light setting if your app cuts it off.
