About World Cup Quiz
This is the sports half of the geo quiz: who won a given World Cup, who they beat in the final, which country hosted it, and which city hosted a given Summer Olympics.
The data covers all 22 World Cup finals played from 1930 to 2022 and all 30 Summer Olympics from 1896 to 2024. Winners are listed as the nation was named at the time, which is why West Germany appears three times.
Every answer comes with the detail behind it, so a wrong guess still tells you the final score line: who beat whom, and where.

World Cup Quiz FAQ
- Which country has won the most World Cups?
- Brazil, with five titles: 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002.
- Why does West Germany appear as a winner?
- Because that is who won. West Germany took the title in 1954, 1974 and 1990, before reunification. Germany won again in 2014.
- Does the quiz include the 2026 World Cup result?
- No. The data stops at the 2022 final, so 2026 only appears in questions about who is hosting.
- Are the Winter Olympics included?
- Not yet. The Olympic questions all come from the Summer Games.
