About the Invisible Character
Most apps delete plain spaces from names and messages, so you cannot send an empty text or leave a name blank. Invisible characters get around that. They are real Unicode characters that simply have no visible shape, so apps accept them while people see nothing.
The default is the Hangul Filler (U+3164), the most widely accepted blank character. If an app rejects it, try the Braille Pattern Blank or one of the zero width characters. Use the slider to copy many at once for extra spacing, and paste into the test box to check that it worked.
Please use blank names and messages for fun and formatting, not to impersonate anyone or get around a platform's rules.
How to use it
- Press Copy to grab the Hangul Filler, or pick another character.
- Set how many you need with the slider.
- Paste into the name, message or bio field, and use the test box to check it.
What you can do with invisible text
- Send a blank message in chat apps that allow it
- Use a blank or spaced-out name in games that accept it
- Add empty lines and spacing to Instagram and TikTok bios
- Indent text in apps that trim extra spaces
- Separate words without a visible gap
Invisible characters compared
- Hangul Filler (U+3164): The most popular blank character. Many games and apps that reject normal spaces accept it, so it is the usual pick for blank names.
- Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800): Shows as empty space but is not trimmed away like a normal space. Great for empty messages, bios and extra line spacing.
- Zero Width Space (U+200B): Has no width at all. Handy for joining or separating words without a visible gap, or stopping links and mentions from auto-formatting.
- Halfwidth Hangul Filler (U+FFA0): A narrower cousin of the Hangul Filler that some apps accept when the wider one is blocked.
- No-Break Space (U+00A0): Looks like a regular space but keeps the words on either side together on one line.
- Ideographic Space (U+3000): A wide, full-width space from Chinese and Japanese typing. Good for indenting text.
- Em Space (U+2003): A space as wide as the letter M, useful for lining things up.
- Zero Width Non-Joiner (U+200C): Another zero width character, sometimes accepted where the Zero Width Space is filtered.
Invisible Character FAQ
- Which invisible character works best?
- The Hangul Filler (U+3164) works in the most places, including many games. The Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is a great second choice for messages and bios.
- Why does my app remove the blank character?
- Some apps filter specific characters or trim anything that looks empty. Try a different character from the list, or combine it with a visible one.
- Is an invisible character the same as a space?
- No. A space is treated as empty and often trimmed away, while an invisible character counts as real text, even though it has no visible shape.
