Newspaper Generator

Your headline, printed on paper that looks like it spent 40 years in a drawer.

About the Newspaper Generator

This newspaper generator builds a full front page clipping: a masthead in classic engraved type, a date line, a large serif headline, a byline, a photo and columns of article text, all printed on aged paper with the speckles and worn edges of something genuinely old.

It is a favorite for birthday gifts, retirement parties, wedding tables, class projects and announcements, plus the obvious use of making your friend's very small achievement front page news.

Everything is editable: the newspaper name, headline, subheading, byline, date, caption and the article text itself. Choose two or three columns, turn the aged paper effect on or off, and upload any photo.

How to use it

  1. Type your newspaper name, headline and article text.
  2. Add a photo and a caption if you want one.
  3. Pick two or three columns, then download the PNG.

Fake newspaper headline ideas

  • Local man finally replies to group chat
  • Scientists confirm: one more episode is never one more episode
  • Birthday celebrated, nation reacts
  • Area woman wins argument she started in 2019
  • Breaking: the dog did in fact eat it
  • Retirement announced, coffee machine devastated
  • Study finds parking spot was there the whole time
  • New record set for longest unread message

Tips for a convincing clipping

  • Keep the headline under about eight words so it stays large.
  • Write the first paragraph like a reporter: who, what, where, when.
  • A black and white or faded photo sells the age more than a bright one.
  • Real papers use a serious tone even for silly news, which makes the joke land harder.
  • Three columns look more like a real front page, two are easier to read on a phone.

Newspaper Generator FAQ

Can I print the newspaper clipping?
Yes. The download is 1000 by 1400 pixels, which prints well at postcard size and still looks sharp on a letter or A4 page.
Can I use a real newspaper's name?
Please do not. Using a real masthead makes the image look like a genuine publication, which can mislead people. Invent a name instead, which is usually funnier anyway.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The clipping is drawn in your browser and your photo never leaves your device.
